Bed and Breakfast
Bed and Breakfast Why Stay here?
When taking a trip most people take the easy option of booking a stay in a large hotel or motel chain rather than doing a little research and searching out a high quality bed and breakfast. The idea for the bed and breakfast originated in Europe and is now a staple of the tourist industry across most of the world; choosing a bed and breakfast over a hotel or motel chain can change a good trip into a memorable one because of the personal service and friendliness of most bed and breakfast owners.
The benefits of staying in a bed and breakfast instead of a large hotel or motel are hard to ignore and after staying at a bed and breakfast most travelers make them their first choice for future trips. Upon arriving at a bed and breakfast the first thing a traveler will notice is that the building is not a generic impersonal building lacking personality; in most cases a bed and breakfast owner lives and works in the building giving it the feeling of being a home instead of a sterile environment replicated around the world as most hotel chain lobbies and rooms seem to be. In a bed and breakfast each bedroom is decorated differently and has the feeling of being a real bedroom in a home.
When staying in a bed and breakfast a traveler also feels like they are staying in a home with home cooked food for breakfast that is included in the price of the stay. Another major difference many people find when staying in a bed and breakfast is that everything is included in a single price, as opposed to the prices charged by a hotel or motel for every small service offered. A bed and breakfast will provide a comfortable dining room and a breakfast cooked to order while most motels or hotel chains offer a small breakfast choice with little food cooked on site.
Not only is the choice of a bed and breakfast usually significantly cheaper than staying in a hotel, but offers the chance of staying off the beaten track in an area of a city or region not generally close to airports or a city center gives good opportunities for exploration. The majority of hotels are located directly beside popular tourist areas close to large areas o nightlife, such as bars and nightclubs; most bed and breakfast owners will be able to direct visitors to these areas, but also direct a guest to smaller restaurants and sights not known to hotel staff. Often a bed and breakfast will offer coupons and discounts for guests visiting restaurants and tourist attractions in the local area.
The main advantage of staying in a bed and breakfast is the personal service provided by the owner to their guests; from the moment of arrival onwards bed and breakfast staff will often cater to every need of their guests without hesitation. Waking in a bed and breakfast is a different experience to waking a hotel as the comfort offered in a bed and breakfast cannot be matched in a hotel.
